About the Role

You'll be responsible for managing all aspects of accounting, including financial reporting, budgeting, and ensuring compliance with regulations, while also providing financial insights to support strategic decision-making. 

Key Responsibilities:
 Financial Reporting:
 
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements (balance sheets, income statements, cash flow statements).
  • Ensure financial statements are accurate, complete, and compliant with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles).
  • Analyze financial data, identify trends, and prepare reports for management.
Accounting Processes:

Budgeting and Forecasting:

  • Develop and manage the company's annual budget.
  • Prepare and track financial forecasts.
  • Analyze variances from budget and forecast, and recommend corrective actions.
Compliance:

  • Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local tax laws and regulations.
  • Prepare and file tax returns.
  • Maintain accurate records for tax purposes.
Internal Controls:

  • Develop and implement internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure the accuracy of financial reporting.
  • Monitor and enforce compliance with internal controls.
Financial Analysis and Reporting:

  •  Provide financial analysis and reporting to support management decision-making.
  • Identify opportunities for cost savings and efficiency improvements.
  • Prepare reports on key financial metrics and performance indicators.
Team Leadership (if applicable):

  • You'll be responsible for hiring, training, and supervising accounting staff.
  •  Provide guidance and support to team members.
  • Ensure team members are performing their duties effectively and efficiently.
Collaboration:

  • Collaborate with other departments
  • Work with external auditors and tax advisors to ensure compliance with regulations. 
Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance.
  • CPA (Certified Public Accountant) or CMA (Certified Management Accountant) designation is a plus.
  • Proven experience in accounting and financial management.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
  • Experience with GAAP and other accounting standards.
  • Proficiency in accounting software, such as QuickBooks or Xero.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Detail-oriented and accurate.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
